Displaying the trophies and storing the dirt bike away, Kevin now designs projects for ISG, such as the La Crosse Center expansion and renovation. Continue reading to hear more about that project!

Describe a challenging project you have encountered since coming to ISG and how you solved it.

The La Crosse Center expansion & renovation is my most challenging project to date. Managing to keep the project scope, budget and schedule in line while also assisting the client when project related political items come up has been a challenge, but even more rewarding to see the work progress and the drive to continue to stay on budget and schedule.

What do you see changing or growing in your field?

A continued push to use technology in a smarter way. Reduce the data loss between owner to architect, architect to builder, then builder back to architect and owner. Generative design is already making its mark on the A/E industry.

What is the best work-related advice you have been given?

"It's ours, let's treat it that way" from Chad Surprenant. I think that mentality goes beyond just taking care of our office space (not leaving dirty dishes), but also applies to projects and clients. They're our client, let's treat them that way.

What do you like most about working in the A/E industry?

The opportunity to create, watch it being built and see the finished product. Seeing owner’s goals come to life beyond what they had expected is exciting and rewarding.

What is one thing you cannot live without?

My family, especially my wife. Working in the A/E industry has a lot of ups and downs. She keeps me grounded and provides continuous support.

What is on your bucket list?

I'd really like to spend time in Europe and experience the historical architecture in person.
