I chose to work in this industry to be a part of solutions to issues involving humans and the natural environment.
I have been involved in the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) since my junior year of college. I was also President (2018-2019) and Graduate Ambassador/Student Advisor (2019-2020) for the University of Iowa.
Currently, I am the 2020-2021 Vice President of Professional Development for the Eastern Iowa Professional (EIP) chapter of SHPE—the only professional chapter in Iowa. Last year we provided workshops and scholarships to SHPE students at the University of Iowa and Iowa State while rebranding and revitalizing the professional chapter. We have a busy spring coming up in which I hope to attend and assist at some regional and national events!
