An avid outdoorsman who spends his free time instructing youth in archery and air rifle disciplines, employee owner Matt Sevcik is a sharpshooter! Read on to learn more about his dynamic career as a project coordinator with ISG.
I was employed by Raasch Engineers and Architects when ISG acquired the firm in August 2016.
The diverse group of fellow employee owners and ever-evolving technology we use every day.
The largest and most interesting project that I have worked on in my 23-year career was TEREX, with the building covering over 10 acres.
My favorite part is the west wall of windows looking out onto the Fox River. I enjoy watching the ships come in, pleasure boaters, and the other activities that downtown has to offer.
Pandora – Johnny Cash Radio or Celtic Thunder Radio.
I worked for a local general contractor for nine years prior to being hired by Raasch Engineers and Architects, which eventually led to becoming an ISGer. I have always enjoyed detailing the backbone of buildings and what holds them upright. Working with concrete and steel is what I do.
Every project is unique and has its challenges. I work on a lot of additions to existing structures and retrofitting processes within existing buildings. Accommodating these processes by designing a structure that opens up space is the kind of challenge I am up for every day.
The challenge of working as a project coordinator is juggling the work, understanding what should be prioritized each day, and being prepared for additional items to pop up. At any one time I could be working on four different projects, only to receive a call from a fellow ISGer who has an issue with REVIT not working as it should. I will always take the time to help work through an issue because someday I may run into the same problem and will be able to recall how it was fixed.
I like to be outside, enjoying nature, as well as volunteer.
Additionally, I am a Brown County 4H shooting sports instructor. Prior to Covid-19, I helped instruct over 150 Brown County youth, ranging from ages 9 through18, in the archery and air rifle disciplines.
The past several years my family and I have rented a home on a small 80-acre lake in northern Wisconsin. Waking up and taking only a few steps out the door to the boat for fishing is wonderful.
My dream vacation is spending time with my wife and son, anywhere we choose to go as a family.
Fishing, hunting, practicing shooting my bow, gardening, and canning.
Sitting under the pergola on my deck at home watching the sprinkler water my garden.
